the_verdict

Both jobs, flat, at $99. The same month metered at PostHog comes to about $275, and stays variable.

both_jobs

Analytics and error tracking

At 5,000,000 events and 600,000 errors a month.

Vinktar

$99/mo

Starter — both jobs, separate budgets, flat.

PostHog

$275/mo

Both jobs, metered separately. Priced on identified events — their higher rate, and the one a product-analytics customer is on. Includes session replay and feature flags we do not have.

errors_only

Error tracking on its own

Not the same product. Listed because if the analytics half is not something you want, one of these is very likely your answer.

Sentry

$128/mo

Errors only. Spans, replays, logs and profiles meter on their own quotas and are not counted here, so a real bill is higher than this.

Better Stack

$67/mo

approximate

Errors only, with uptime and logs alongside. Rate reconstructed from published figures rather than a rate card.

how_this_is_worked_out

Where these numbers come from.

Our column reads the same plan constants the product enforces, so it is exact. The others model published list prices: PostHog on their identified-event rate, which is their higher one and the one a product-analytics customer is actually on; Sentry on the Team plan, errors only, excluding the spans, replays and logs that meter separately — so a real Sentry bill is above what is shown. Better Stack's rate is reconstructed from published figures rather than a rate card, and is the least certain here.

Competitors change prices and we will not always notice on the day. If a number here disagrees with a vendor's own pricing page, theirs is right and we want to know — john@vinktar.com.
