Vinktar and Bugsink

Error tracking you can self-host free with every feature, or have hosted from €16 a month. If errors are the whole job, it is the cheaper way to do it.

what_they_do_better

Where Bugsink is the stronger product.

  • Self-hosting, free, with every feature

Run it yourself and nothing is held back for a paid tier; your errors stay on your own infrastructure. We are hosted only, in Helsinki. There is no Vinktar you can run yourself.

  • Errors only, at a lower price

Hosted plans run from 15,000 events free to 50M at €1,288 a month, and the 600K plan is €50 against our Pro at $99. If errors are the whole job, the table below is the whole comparison.

  • Your Sentry SDK already works with it

Bugsink accepts Sentry SDKs by DSN, the same door we offer. Nothing about moving your errors favours one of us over the other.

What a month of errors costs.

Two months priced from public list prices: a quiet one, and one with a storm.

List prices read from each vendor's pricing page on 2026-10-05. Vinktar is flat; every other column meters or steps. Sentry Team is $26 a month billed annually with 50,000 errors included; 500,000 is $26 + 50,000 × $0.0003625 + 400,000 × $0.0002188 = $131.65, and data past the pay-as-you-go budget is dropped and not charged. Better Stack includes 100,000 exceptions a month with 90 days of retention, then $0.000050 an exception in the EU region: 400,000 × $0.000050 = $20. Bugsink hosted: the 75K plan is €16 a month and the 600K plan €50; self-hosting is free with every feature. GlitchTip: Small is $15 for 100k events and Medium $50 for 500k. Vinktar: Free carries 50,000 errors a month and Pro 500,000, flat. Repeats of one issue past 1,000 an hour are counted on the issue and not charged against the budget, so a storm on a known error draws at most 1,000 an hour from it.

what_we_do_better

Where we are.

  • Product analytics in the same tier

Trends, funnels, retention and SQL over the same warehouse the errors land in, so the issue, the person it hit and what they did before are one query.

  • Your coding agent sets it up and asks it questions

Over MCP, on every plan: the agent fetches the install guide and the key, defines the events it adds, reads back what arrived, then answers what changed and what broke from the same connection. Agent access has a monthly allowance and no charge per call.

  • A storm on a known error does not move the bill

Repeats of one issue past 1,000 an hour are counted on the issue, not charged against the budget. Events and errors have separate budgets besides, so a bad week of errors cannot touch the analytics.

  • Flat, with no overage invoice

Four plans, one price each. At the volume cap we email at 80, 100 and 110 percent and pause ingest at twice the cap with a 429 and a Retry-After. There is never an overage invoice.

which_one

Which one, then.

buy bugsink

You want to self-host, or you want error tracking alone at the lowest price in the table. Also whenever your errors have to stay on infrastructure you run.

buy vinktar

You want analytics and errors in one warehouse your agent can query, at a flat price. If the analytics half is not something you need, the table above has already answered the question.

the_verdict

If errors are the whole job, Bugsink is the cheaper way to do it, and self-hosting it costs nothing. Our case starts when you also want to know what the product is doing, in the same place the errors land, from the same agent.
