Where PostHog is the better choice
PostHog is a wider product with a larger free plan. If you need any of the following, pick PostHog.
A larger free plan
PostHog’s free plan covers more errors than Vinktar’s and includes session replay, feature flags and surveys. If your product fits inside it, use it.
Replay, flags, experiments and surveys
Vinktar has none of them and does not plan to. If you want them from one vendor, pick PostHog.
A larger team
PostHog is a funded company with a wide roadmap. Vinktar is one developer building two things, error tracking and product analytics.
An agent that opens pull requests
PostHog has a hosted agent that opens pull requests with fixes. Vinktar runs no model and opens no pull requests.
A setup wizard
PostHog’s wizard scans your codebase, installs PostHog, creates events from your real product flows and builds dashboards. It can add their MCP server for your agent too.
A lower rate for anonymous traffic
PostHog charges less for anonymous events than for identified ones. If your visitors are mostly logged out and you never call identify(), PostHog will likely cost less.
Where Vinktar is different
The same bill every month
Every plan is one flat price, and there is never an overage invoice. Past your plan, Vinktar accepts data up to twice the limit, then pauses until next month.
Separate budgets for errors and events
Errors count against their own budget. A bad week of errors never uses up your events.
Your agent writes the tracking plan
As your agent adds an event it records what the event means, its required properties and where the call is. Any agent that queries later reads those definitions first.
You check its work
The setup check reports a defined event that never arrives. Every entry names the agent that wrote it, and you can correct it.
Agent access on every plan
Agents connect over MCP with a monthly allowance of data requests and no charge per call. Setting a project up never counts against it.
SQL on your raw events
A read-only SQL editor runs on your events in Explore and on any board. Your agent gets the same read-only SQL.
